Born in Melbourne, Australia, Jaq Belcher has been living in New York City since 2001. Using an X-Acto knife, Jaq incises precise cuts into hand-crafted paper to create intricate voids and raised surfaces. This meditative process leads to a complex set of patterns and shadows that
come together in a visually stunning experience. Each cut is meticulously accounted for and numbered, and some of her site-specific installations can have over 70,000 cuts.
