Lynn Davis is a prolific photographer whose work garnered attention when she exhibited figurative imagery alongside portraits by Robert Mapplethorpe at the ICP in New York in the 1970s. Since then, her range of themes has broadened to include ancient monuments,
architectural landmarks, icebergs and even abandoned space stations. Her compositional preoccupations have moved from traditional travel photography to Minimalist forms. Davis was the first photographer to receive an Academy Award from the American Academy of Arts
and Letters in 2005.
