Lena Ditlmann

Working with predominately analog materials, Lena Ditlmann's work investigates mathematical structures from the visible world. She studies nature by analyzing and sketching photographs and the world around her. Instead of focusing on replicating the structure of natural forms, she investigates the systematic makeup of natural elements. Using fine lines woven into one another she emphasizes the intricacy of these natural elements. The shapes and motifs in her work are situated between the objective and subjective aspects of nature.
