Shepard Fairey

Shepard Fairey is an American artist born in 1970. Fairey’s work blurs the boundary between traditional and commercial art using typography and graphic images, communicating a message of social critique through posters, prints and murals in public space. Fairey’s iconic work of former President Barrack Obama, Hope, has been recognized as one of the most successful and iconic presidential campaign posters. Fairey has exhibited extensively both nationally and internationally and is held in the collections of significant institutions around the world. Fairey has also executed large scale murals in more than 50 cities worldwide. He currently lives and works in Los Angeles, California.
