Inspired by abstract forms of hands and tools, Charlie Hewitt is known for his sculpture, paintings, and woodcuts. With geometric shapes and a bold contrasting color scheme, Hewitt’s work conveys a captivating, visceral energy. His work is held in many public collections including the Museum of Modern Art, the Whitney Museum of American Art and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. One of his better-known sculptures, “Urban Rattle,” sits on the High Line in New York City.
